ASSIGNMENT: Landlord Representation

What do you do when you want some of the best brands in the country to open up in your space overnight? Well, you get creative. That’s exactly what we did in December of 2010, when we partnered with Atlanta History Center, Jamestown and Midtown Alliance to create, develop, and host Atlanta’s first-ever Pop-Up Retail District.

To set the stage, this was before “Pop-Ups” were popping up all over. We had to do this right, and we wanted it to work. Success meant not only activating a 2-block stretch of Peachtree from 10th Street to 805 Peachtree, but it also meant bringing real prospects into available space in a way that allowed them to see how bright the future could be.

In what was truly a team effort, the event was a smash hit. In addition to taking a lead on social media and marketing, GK|CRE worked on transforming Historic Commercial Row (on behalf of our client, the Atlanta History Center) into a coffee shop, bookstore, and winter wonderland by partnering up with SCAD Atlanta, Alternative Apparel, and Octane Coffee.

The result was over 20,000 visitors, more than 1,000,000 PR hits, plus leasing activity that lead to the revitalization of the entire block of Peachtree at Peachtree Place.
